The Symposium Central and Eastern Europe took place at the campus of the university of Vienna on the 2nd and 3rd October 2003. Over 300 students, alumnis and young professionals from all over Europe attended the meeting.

at the campus of the university of Vienna on the 2nd and 3rd October 2003.
Over 300 students, alumnis and young professionals from all over Europe
attended the meeting. The Symposium Central and Eastern Europe (SYCEE) took
place for the first time this year. It was organized by UNITRAIN, the Career
Center of the University of Vienna, in co-operation with the University
itself. Over 300 students, aluminis and young professionals from 12 European
countries discussed topics concerning labour- and knowledge-mobility, regionalisation
and recruiting. As economic experts participated among others Albert Hochleitner
(Siemens Austria), Konstantin Klien (UNIQA), Boris Nemsic (mobilkom austria)
and Jack Stack (Ceska sporitelna). From scientfic quarters partook numerous
ambassadors from partneruniversities from 12 CEE-countries, as for example
Rector Gaher (Universitiy of Bratislava), Rector Marga (University of Cluj)
and Rector Mencer (University of Zagreb).

The Recruiters Night held within the scope of the SYCEE on the 3rd of October
found general approval among the students, almunis and young professionals.
About 180 applications were sent to UNITRAIN in the forefront of the symposium.
Mag. Elisabeth Punzengruber, Managing Dircetor of UNITRAIN, is very pleased
with the results: We never had had so many applications for any Recruiters
Night before. The topic Central and Eastern Europe mobilised many students,
alumnis and young professionals. At the Recruiters Night exclusive candidates
meet chief recruiters from nationally- and internationally-active companies.
